THERAPY DESCRIPTION
General Information
At Thrive Speech Pathology, the process starts with you reaching out by phone or email. We will provide more information on our services and our availability to see if we might be a good fit for your child. Next, we will check on your insurance benefits for you.
Most children need an evaluation, but if your child recently had an evaluation through their school or another therapist, we can start there.
The evaluation will provide us with important information, like whether your child would benefit from therapy, how frequent therapy sessions should be, and what goals we will start working on.
Therapy sessions are typically scheduled so they are at the same day and time each week. We will either come to your home, or go to your child’s school or daycare.
Consultation
Not sure how to approach the next stage of development for your child, or want more information about how to make the most of it? Confused by the information you are seeing online? Our consultations might be for you!
Consultations are for families whose children who don’t need, or already receive, one-on-one therapy. They are short-term services that focus on providing parents and caregivers with evidence-based information on how to approach a new stage their child is experiencing. If you want to know the best way to get started with solids, encourage language production, or prepare your child for Kindergarten, consultation might be right for you!
Our consultations are individualized, which means we will cover the information and topics that matter to you, and answer all the questions you might have about speech, language, and/or feeding development.
Consultations are provided either in-person or virtually and are typically 45 minutes long. They are not billable to insurance, payment is accepted via check or credit card at the time of service.

SECTION OVERLINE
Our Approach
Our number one goal at Thrive Speech Pathology is making sure our services are working for you! In direct therapy with children, this means we use the child’s interest and a play-based approach so that we encourage engaged learning that extends beyond our therapy sessions. We work closely with families to establish goals that are functional and meaningful.
In our consultations, we tailor each meeting to what you, the parent, wants to know. We spend time making our recommendations feasible and realistic for your family. There is no such thing as too many questions!
